Getting Around |
Dubai TaxisTaxis are readily available and are the easiest, most convenient forms of transport. All the taxis are generally very good specification saloon/sedan cars e.g. Toyota Camry. The taxis are painted yellow. All the taxis are metered so you do not need to haggle nor can you get cheated. Dubai BoatsYou may also want to travel by boat. Boat travel is certainly popular in crossing the Dubai Creek. A traditional 2 minute ride is available for only 2 AED. Boats are also available to go from one end of Dubai to the other e.g. From the Dubai Marina to the Dubai Creek. You can also hire your own boat (with or without a driver) and this is not necessarily very expensive between a group. Dubai MetroThe Metro is to open on 09/09/09 and is to be provide a world class transportation facility from the airport to all the major areas in Dubai. Dubai BusesDubai buses are offering increasing routes however, it is still not well connected. Some routes do provide a good alternative to taxis for short trips. |
